With
the election day simply looming in the distance President Barack Obama and Republican Presidential hopeful
Mitt Romney made a last chance effort to wow the voters on Sunday. In one of
the tightest election campaigns in recent American history, this one
will come down to the wire. Obama and Romney have their own territories where
they have the majority of the vote but as far as reliance goes
anything can happen. On Sunday both campaigns were projecting pure confidence
to insist that their man had the momentum. "I'm very confident that,
two days out from election day, the president's going to be re-elected on
Tuesday night," David Plouffe, a White House adviser who managed the
president's 2008 campaign. "Here on the ground, there is a lot
of enthusiasm for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan." Republican Eric Cantor,
a Virginia congressman and the majority leader of the House of Representatives
said about Romney. Both men were in Ohio this Sunday and are very much focused
on securing that state. Polls show Obama being up by less than 2% but others
show it being neck and neck. The Republicans are firing at Obama accusing him
of being a borderline socialist by advocating big government and a welfare
state while raising taxes and running up the national debt to levels they
consider obscene. The democrats have warned that Romney will slash entitled
programs such as Medicare and loosen Wall Street regulations to the extent that
another financial meltdown could occur.
Of
course it is easier to tackle the President since he has been in the seat for 4
years already and was forced to captain an already sinking ship (Bush) but
Romney is being called out by the democrats of switching his stance on various
issues. "He was a friend of immigrants, then a scourge of immigrants,
then again a friend. Assault weapons were bad, then good. Abortion was
okay, then bad. "the post wrote. Tuesday’s presidential election is
ultimately about the U.S. economy. There are numerous issues that matter to the
voters at present, but front and center is the limping economy, and the battle
between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama is over who has the best plan to
boost growth. BANG BANG

Yes, this is definitely the closest US election in years! I heard on the radio today too that polls said they were about dead even and both were scrambling to try and win the share of "undecided" voters. The state of the economy was front and centre of many of the debates, as it should be. From what I have seen, both men are confident, well-spoken and seemingly have great "ideas" or "plans" of how to stimulate the world's (or what used to be) #1 economy. Hopefully, whoever wins, will follow through on their "promises" and the agenda that enabled them to get elected (this is often not the case in politics).
ReplyDeleteWe will see quite soon...should be interesting. Good post Ankush.

P.S. Seems you changed the titles like 3 times on this post...lol
OBAMA for president!
ReplyDeleteI never really paid attention to elections until this year! But after hearing so many debates and controversies I had to see the voting poll since both of them were so strong in their campaigns. Nice post ankush :)
ReplyDeleteOBAMA WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that the polls are actually close, there have been many issues between Mitt Romney and Obama. Some say Obama does nothing but most of his deeds go undone while Romney is just a guy who cares for himself in my opinion. After Hurricane Sandy, Obama went to help out with the people who suffered while Romney went to other states to gain votes. In my opinion it would be evident the guy who shows more compassion would win and the guy who cares for himself would fail. In the world of business this happens but other times the guy who looks out for himself wins and ends up on top. Overall I would rather have a nice and caring president than a guy who is power hungry. GDH for the win! God Bless America and OBAMA ALL THE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood post. I think that this was the closest election I have ever seen. The polls were almost tied. Obama would be a better president than Romney because like Adiel said, he cares more about America. Romney only cares about himself. It would be better to have a caring president than a narcissistic one because a caring president would help out the people in bad times. For example, if there was a hurricane, earthquake, or any natural disaster, a caring president would repair the damages caused.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations in the big win for Obama. I know I'm late, but it was a well earned win. These next four years for Obama will determine if the people made the right choice in re-electing him or not. Nonetheless, his strong leadership and determination is what will help get the U.S. on track to where it was economically. I think that Obama also has the potential to repair most of the damages the country has faced in the last four years.
